How to Find – and Refine – Your Big Idea for the TEDx Stage

Anna at TEDxPortsmouth

Like a logline for a movie or an elevator pitch for an investor meeting, a “big idea” is the hook for a TED talk. And the best ideas are unexpected, provocative, defy expectation and pique curiosity … especially the curiosity of the TEDx producer who’s looking at your application.

So how do you get it right? That’s exactly what you’ll learn in this workshop. Through a combination of lecture, discussion, guided exercises and Q+A, top-tier TEDx producer Anna Goldsmith will show you how to elevate your idea so it’s red-dot worthy.

What you’ll learn:

  • The three elements of any great idea
  • Ideas that grab the attention of a TEDx producer
  • “Big ideas” TEDx producers hate — and how to avoid them
  • How to find the one talk only you could give
  • How to wordsmith your big idea for your application

You’ll also have the opportunity to present your idea and get real-time feedback.
